by Thomas Tennant Baxter (1894-1947)
Fine large early 20th Century portrait of a nude girl by the fireplace, oil on canvas by Thomas Tennant Baxter. Large interior nude study of the girl posing away from the viewer in a seemingly intimate and vulnerable scene as she sits alone whilst the dog sleeps by the fire. Exceptional detail in the interior effects of the room but particularly how the contrast against the small scale and soft tones of the sitters skin illuminated by the natural light coming from the window on the right. Signed and framed.
Measurements: 38.5" x 30.5" framed
