Large 18th Century View Of Southampton From The River Itchen John Tobias Young
Large circa 1800 view of Southampton from the Rover Itchen, oil on panel by John Tobias Young. Excellent quality and condition early view painted almost as if it were a prospectus capturing every detail and undulation. Presented in a magnificent hand made gilt frame. One of the earliest original account of the area and a leading example of the artists work. The panel has some movement and bowing expected with works of this age on panel.
