Huge 19th Century Pre-Raphaelite Maiden & Slave Vanity HENRY THOMAS SCHAFER
Large 19th Century Pre-Raphaelite classical scene of a young woman and her attendant, oil on canvas by Henry Schafer. Excellent quality and condition example of the artists work capturing an ancient classical interior as a young woman admires her reflecting as her attendant prepares her hair. Signed and dated. At this scale it is likely one of the artists Royal Academy entires. Presented in tis original antique gilt frame.

Artists Biography
Painter, watercolourist, draughtsman. Figures, scenes with figures, genre scenes, church interiors, landscapes, waterscapes, urban landscapes, architectural views.
Henry Thomas Schafer was active from 1873 to 1915. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists. He exhibited The Writer at the Royal Academy and Suffolk Street in London, and at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1911.
