Large 17th Century portrait of Sir Edward Clarke, Lord Mayor Of London, oil on canvas. Clarke was a merchant who later became a Councillor, Whig, Sheriff Of London and Director of the Bank Of England before his knighthood and appointment as Mayor between 1696-97. Excellent quality and condition three quarter length portrait. Artists plaque inscribed to the frame.
