Large early 20th century interior scene portrait of Barney Seale sculpting Augustus John which would later be entered into the Royal Academy. Excellent quality and condition unique studio interior piece. Signed by the artist and by John verso.


Note: this painting was reproduced as a full-page colour illustration in 'The Sketch', 25th November 1936, p.349. Seale's bust of Augustus John was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1937.
