Don Lorenzo De Suarez, dated 1494
Large Spanish School Old Master portrait of Don Lorenzo De Suarez, dated 1494, oil on canvas. Early and important portrait of the gentleman wearing a black beret, gold trim doublet, ruff and his coat of arms in the top right. The work is likely a posthumous portrait by an established court painter during the early 16th Century. We haven't narrowed down the sitter however he name and features are similar to the Count of Coruna. His name is inscribed top left. Good condition for its age and presented in an antique gilt frame.
