Fine large 1943 French WWII era portrait of a woman in a gentleman, oil on canvas. An engaging portrait of the man set against the backdrop of the countryside and wearing a mac (possibly an artist) One of a pair we have, the other of his wife. The portrait is in immaculate unrestored original clean condition and comes presented in its original antique gilt frame. Not much is known about Mroz's artists career or life. She may have abandoned painting due to the war or lost her life during it. There is a Michigan archive of a Marion Mroz who died in Detroit, USA recored as "Marion Mroz (1892-1976)"
