Fine large 19th Century portrait of a Tibetan Terrier, oil on canvas by Maud Earl. Fine example of the leading dog painters work and a rare early depiction of the breed in art. Beautifully painted with contrast of darkness and light capturing the detail and textures of the head and coat. Appears to be painted in an artists studio. Excellent condition for its age. Unsigned, inscription label verso. Gilt Frame.
