James PEEL
1811 – 1906
He was a landscape painter who was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and studied under Alexander Dalziel, but his love his love for landscape painting came from the beauty spots of Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Wales.
From 1840 Peel settled in London and became a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy from 1847 to 1892 and later a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1871.
He was probably the father of Amy Peel
