17th Century Italian Old Master depiction of Michelina of Pesaro, oil on canvas. Superb quality and condition devotional scene of the wealthy Italian noble who gave away her possessions, aided the sick and buried the dead after her conversion. Her family believed her to be insane and locked her up. Upon her release she made the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Renaissance style frame. The composition comes from a larger 16th century piece by Federico Barocci.
